Apo Reef Natural Park – At 35 sq.kms, it is the world’s second largest reef teeming with marine lush life and is one of the country’s scuba diving havens. This atoll complex is considered the largest of its kind in Asia, and measures 26 kms. from north to south and 20 kms. from east to west. The reef is divided by a narrow lagoon and populated by some 285 species of marine fishes including sharks, stingrays and mantas, schools of jack and snappers, tropical fish and crevice-dwelling moray, blemish and gobi, and 500 coral species. The Park includes the bird-populated islands of Binanggaan and Cajos del Bajo. Apo Island, Apo Menor and Cayos del Bajo with white sandy beaches ideal for recreation and sporting vacation.
Pandan Grande Island—A 30-hectare islet popular with snorkelers and divers, as it is located within swimming distance of a submarine drop-off inhabited by schools of fish. A forest is nestled at the center of the island which is ideal for trekking and bird watching. A 30-minute boat ride away from the mainland, it is habitat to various marine species such as pawikan, dugong (seacow), and colorful reef fishes.
